elevate.io joins Google’s Chromebook perks
Updated on
We’ve got some exciting news for Chromebook creators: elevate.io is joining Google’s Chromebook perks program in the UK, bringing powerful, collaborative, browser-based video editing (and an exclusive elevate.io offer) to Chromebook users.
Powerful Editing, Right in Chrome
Chromebooks proved that computing could be fast, secure, effortless, and fundamentally cloud-first. elevate.io was built around that same philosophy.
While traditional desktop editors like Adobe Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve demand heavy local processing power and massive hard drives, elevate.io has always run 100% inside your browser. By shifting heavy video rendering, processing, and media storage into the cloud, elevate.io gives you a responsive, desktop-grade editing workspace on any laptop - with zero installs, no local rendering lag, and no hardware friction.
It’s also built to be intuitive from the first click: a simple drag-and-drop timeline gets you creating without having to master complicated editing software or fit your ideas into someone else’s template. Create, add stock footage and music, and export in 4K - all without leaving the browser.
While elevate.io has always been accessible on ChromeOS, this new collaboration with Google unlocks exclusive savings for Chromebook owners in the UK looking to upgrade their video editing experience.
"This collaboration with Google is powerful validation of the architectural decision we made with elevate.io: that the future of video editing is in the browser, accessible to everyone, on any device." - Ian McDonough, CEO & Executive Chair of Blackbird plc

Why Chromebook Creators Love elevate.io
1. High Performance: Smooth, responsive, frame-accurate editing on any Chromebook. Because the heavy lifting happens in the cloud, you get a desktop-grade editing experience without needing desktop-grade hardware.
“I was surprised at how well it ran for a browser application... because they can get really glitchy really fast. But I was very impressed by, one, that it could handle the file size and, two, it was just super smooth.”
— Visual Artist, Chromebook user
2. Work From Anywhere: Your projects live online, not on your hard drive. Log in from any desktop device, pick up exactly where you left off, and edit on the go without needing to move files around.
3. Work With Others: Invite people into your project to edit alongside you in real time, or switch to Review Mode so they can leave feedback directly on the timeline - no exporting extra versions, no waiting around.
